Welcome to the Deqiang Sun Lab in the Institute of Biosciences and Technology at Texas A&M University Health Science Center
Our research focus is Computational Epigenetics in Development, Aging, and Diseases, particularly Cancer.
Our computational approaches include development of statistical methods and software packages, and analysis of high throughput DNA sequencing data, such as Bisulfite-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and RNA-Seq, to extract biological insights especially in transcriptional and epigenetic regulation.
In particular, our past research centered on DNA methylation and then its crosstalk with gene expression, histone modification, alternative splicing, transcription factor binding, lncRNA, genomic variants and etc (Nat Genet 2012 & 2014, Cell Stem Cell 2014 & 2014 & 2015, Genome Biol 2014, Bioinformatics 2013).
